Value fashion giant Primark is making its Middle Eastern debut as it gears up to open the doors to its first-ever store in the region later this year.

Primark has partnered with Middle Eastern operator Alshaya Group to launch in the region this year, with the first store in The Avenues shopping centre, Kuwait, scheduled to open in October.
A further three stores are set to open in Dubai in 2026 including in Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Mirdif shopping centres.
Primark said today that it will continue to work with Alshaya on further opportunities for “future stores in other markets” across the region.
Primark interim chief executive Eoin Tonge said: “We’re excited to be taking the next step in our global expansion journey, creating new stores for more customers to enjoy shopping with us.
“It’s fantastic to be preparing for our first stores to arrive in the Middle East in partnership with Alshaya Group. We know there is already a strong cohort of shoppers ready and waiting for us and we believe the wider region holds a lot of potential for Primark and our value proposition. We can’t wait to bring them their first Primark later this year in The Avenues, Kuwait, before we continue to expand with more stores planned for Dubai next year.”

Alshaya Group chief executive John Hadden added: “Since we announced our partnership a few months ago, we’ve seen how excited our customers are for Primark’s fantastic stores to open in the region. We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Primark, and we are all looking forward to much anticipated first stores in the next few months.”
The news continues Primark’s ongoing ambitious expansion in the Italian market as it has also confirmed a further €40m (£33.9m) investment into five new stores in the region, including in Rome, Biella, Perugia and two stores in Naples.
This builds on Primark’s €50m (£43.3m) investment into its Italian business at the end of 2023, which saw the fashion giant open five new stores in Turin, Livorno, Salerno, Consenza and Genoa.
The new additions will bring Primark’s Italian store estate to a total of 26 and the raft of new stores is expected to create a total of 700 new jobs.
