London-born designer Jasper Conran is pulling the womenswear line from his eponymous label as he concentrates on “various other projects”, Retail Week can reveal.

Conran, who designed his first women’s collection in 1978, said he had “decided to hang up my scissors” after more than 45 years.
Jasper Conran London, which launched in 2021, will continue to offer homewares and furniture. The company said “a few redundancies” had been made, but the process was “ongoing” and where possible, suitable roles would be offered.
The current autumn/winter range will be the last women’s collection from the brand.
Conran had previously been behind the biggest ‘designers at Debenhams’ brand since its launch in 1996. He will instead focus on growing his hotel group, which has two Moroccan locations in Marrakech and Tangier.
Conran said: “After 45 years, I have decided to hang up my scissors.
“This current autumn/winter 2025 collection will be the last women’s collection from Jasper Conran. It has been a great privilege to have had such a long career in the profession I love and an even greater privilege to have dressed many thousands of clients and customers. I offer my profound thanks to them all.
“I would also like to thank the enormous number of talented, hardworking people I have collaborated with over time, including models, journalists, cutters, sewers, photographers, PR professionals, designers, makeup artists, hairdressers, accountants and assistants. It truly takes a village to create a collection.
“Whilst I will no longer be designing women’s wear, I will still be busy. My hotel group is expanding at a rapid rate, and I’m looking forward to channeling my creativity into that, as well as the various other projects that I am currently working on.”
