Department store chain Beatties' new chief executive Brian Heilbron takes up the reigns officially today. His appointment was announced last November.
Meanwhile, managing director Chris Jones has relinquished his role, but remains non-executive chairman at the retailer.
Beatties suffered from poor trading over Christmas. Like-for-like sales for the seven weeks to January 7 were down 2.1 per cent compared with the year before. However, the retailer expects results for the year, excluding exceptional items, to be in-line with analysts' expectations.
