Entertainment retailer Zavvi has restructured its board following a bumper Christmas sales performance.

Zavvi marketing director Steve Kincaid will become e-commerce director, focusing on driving sales, the customer experience and developing the retailer’s digital strategy. Trading director Mark Noonan will become commercial director with responsibilities including marketing.

Zavvi chief executive Simon Douglas said: “Steve Kincaid has done a fantastic job overseeing the launch of the Zavvi brand and, with zavvi.co.uk, a vital component in our long-term multichannel strategy, he will devote his time to creating a compelling experience.

“Mark Noonan will continue the work establishing Zavvi as the number-one destination for entertainment product, with his product and marketing teams working closely together to deliver our customer strategy.”

Zavvi, formerly Virgin Megastores, reported a 10.2 per cent increase in comparable store sales in the four weeks to January 5. Online sales rocketed 70 per cent and margins rose 2 per cent. Over a 10-week period, like-for-likes were up more than 9 per cent.
