Vision Express faced a tall order when it worked with explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes to find glasses that would not break in extremely cold temperatures.

He was fitted with special glasses at the optician before he set off on his expedition in December to be the first person to cross Antarctica in winter. Unfortunately, Fiennes had to pull out of his expedition last week due to frost bite.

But considering Fiennes’ challenge was raising money for an initiative to tackle blindness, it was a worthwhile collaboration for the retailer.
