Value giant Poundland has relaunched its ecommerce website, offering customers a range of around 3,000 products online.

From this morning, Poundland.co.uk is now a fully transactional website offering customers items at the same prices found in the retailer’s high street stores, with delivery fees starting at £1.

The website offers a range of grocery products, household cleaning and health and beauty items, as well as what Poundland called an “extensive Halloween shop”.

The launch of the website follows the digital migration of Poundshop.com and the opening of a second fulfilment hub at the retailer’s Darton, South Yorkshire, distribution centre.

Online orders are now being picked, packed and delivered from both the new South Yorkshire hub as well as the original Poundshop.com facilities in Wednesbury, West Midlands.

Poundland is also nearly finished with the process of recruiting 120 new staff to expand the Darton operation.

Poundland said in the coming months it intends to “develop and expand the products and services of its new website as it makes a significant proportion of its growing in-store ranges available for home delivery”.

The retailer’s director of digital Tom Hill said: “This is an important milestone in the development of our digital business. I’d like to thank the teams at Walsall, Wednesbury and Darton for their amazing efforts to open up Poundland.co.uk – a big milestone for our growing online business.

“These are exciting times in Poundland as we give our customers more ways to shop with us and offer them more value, wherever they are in the UK.”

Poundland has also now expanded its full clothing range offer to more than 500 stores and its chilled and/or frozen food offering to more than 450 stores.
