Tributes paid to fashion chief Fiona Harrison

Former Liberty and Jaeger boss Fiona Harrison has died after a two-year battle with cancer.

Liberty chairman Richard Balfour-Lynn described Harrison as 'a real lady'.

'I was proud to know her and lucky to have worked with her for the short period she was at Liberty.'

Harrison, 52, held a string of management roles prior to her appointment as fashion retail division chief executive of Coats Viyella in 1991, which included Jaeger. She left in 1999 to pursue a career as a consultant before joining Liberty in December 2000.

Ill-health prompted her resignation in July 2001. She is survived by husband Chris.
