The project would also include the development of a number of smaller shops and cafes, space for a police station or health centre and improved parking facilities.
London-based planning consultancy firm Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners (NLP) submitted the application on behalf of Tesco.
NLP director Steven Butterworth said: “The council and the local community are very keen to see improvements to this declining district centre and we are working with them and in harmony with the local Good for Greenford regeneration strategy. Currently most local shoppers drive elsewhere to do their weekly shop.”
Ealing Council is expected to make a decision on the scheme by mid-April.
