Pigeons, telephone boxes and wet-shave barbers – all part of the 4,000 sq ft Ted Baker that opened on London’s Cheapside this week.

Dubbed Ted Baker & Friends, the shop has a range of additional features to the normal template, including a barber’s shop, massage area and a shoe-shine service.

In a tie-up with Carphone Warehouse, Ted Baker has also introduced its first mobile phone department with handsets displayed in antique leather cases. And, on the ceiling, a flock of stuffed pigeons reminds City shoppers of life in the capital.

Investec analyst David Jeary said: “It is a very well-designed store and marks a big step forward in terms of Ted Baker’s service proposition.”
