Online retail share the same as if Covid ‘never happened’ as top ecomm firms risk insolvency

New analysis by Knight Frank, shared exclusively with Retail Week, shows that online growth is slowing, with the majority of gains in online sales now among multi-channel retailers

The Covid-19 pandemic forced many retailers and shoppers to prioritise online, taking internet retail sales to a peak of 37.2% of all UK retail revenue in February, 2021. That share dropped in the immediate aftermath, but remained significantly up on where we were pre-pandemic.
