What it does

Try.com is a US-based fashion delivery start-up that allows its users to order clothes from retailers for free and buy what they decide to keep.

The membership website creates an add-on button on its retail partners’ ecommerce sites, which shoppers can press to order clothes that have caught their eye.

They can order deliveries from up to five different retailers at a time and have seven days to try on products and keep what they like. Anything the shopper wishes to return is sent back with a pre-paid label at no cost to them.

What problem it solves

This fashion technology start-up enables retailers to offer online delivery for shoppers while minimising the internal cost of delivery and potential returns.

Because orders are consolidated across multiple retailers and Try.com covers the cost of delivery, fashion retailers get access to new shoppers without footing the bill of order fulfilment (although they do pay Try.com for having the button on their sites).

By creating a membership-only website, Try.com also gives retailers access to shoppers who are likely to have a higher average order value.

The start-up also allows shoppers to increase the size of their basket by inviting friends to use the platform, allowing its retail partners to increase their customer base through peer recommendation.
