Harvey Nichols’ redesigned accessories department at its Knightsbridge flagship is a visual feast that restores its glitzy destination proposition.
Harvey Nichols launched the “Beauty Lounge” on the ground floor of its Knightsbridge flagship earlier this year, but that was only part of the task facing design company Virgile + Partners.
Last week the luxury department store operator took down the remaining internal hoardings and revealed a new accessories department that occupies the lion’s share of the floor.
This is Harvey Nicks, dahling, so the ambiance is reassuringly glam and, in addition to a tessellated marble floor and some shiny mid-shop and perimeter fixturing, it is the visual merchandising that really sets this one apart.
With mannequins perched, seemingly casually, high up on the display equipment and, in parts, a mirrored ceiling, what has been done is about restoring Harvey Nichols’ position as a destination for glitz and pizazz.
The unveiling of this part of the ground floor follows the completion of the new menswear level in the basement, earlier this year.
