US retail giant Williams-Sonoma makes its UK landfall as its West Elm fascia opens in central London.

West Elm, the furniture and homewares fasica owned by US retailer Williams-Sonoma, has opened its first store this morning on London’s Tottenham Court Road. The 12,000 sq ft store trades from two floors and is on the site of the former Harveys flagship. With a broad range of homewares and furniture aimed at the metropolitan shopper, the store joins central London’s homewares and furniture alley, as Tottenham Court Road has become over the last few years.

Among other features, the store boasts a green wall, in the staircase well, a wood-clad coffee bar and a substantial number of roomsets, including outline wooden cabin frames that contain beds, dining tables and associated furnishings.

Williams-Sonoma is also looking for sites for its famous Pottery Barn, as revealed by Retail-week.com.
