Dixons unveiled its vision for the technology store of the future this morning at its refitted Currys PC World shop in Bluewater.

Following a three-week refit, the 5,000 sq ft Currys PC World store has been transformed into a techno-playground that aims to appeal to men as well women. Among the many highlights are a candy-striped “service desk” at the back of the store, multiple mid-shop browsing tables that are washed in coloured light from beneath and “Beacon tables” that carry the flagship offer for each category that is stocked.

The revamped store is the latest iteration of a new format that was first unveiled in Birmingham at the end of 2011, was further refined at the Harrods shop-in-shop in 2012 and was followed by an airport version at Gatwick’s South Terminal, which opened in August.
