Westfield Stratford is the location for the first John Lewis opticians, which opened this morning in a tie-up with glasses and sunglass company Luxottica.

John Lewis opened its first dedicated in-store opticians this morning in its Westfield Stratford store.

Located on the first floor, the 200 sq m space is in a semi-discrete part of the store and has an eye-testing room and a lab that enables prescription lenses to be produced in an hour, where they are in stock.

The opticians stocks a wide range of frames, from Prada to Rayban and the operation is being managed in a tie-up with glasses and sunglass company Luxottica, but is branded John Lewis opticians.

Designed by London consultancy Household, the space will be replicated in the retailer’s Cardiff store and is set to welcome shoppers in a fortnight.
