Retail Week was granted exclusive access to the site, which is located above Birmingham New Street station and is due to open next year.

The scheme will be anchored by a 250,000 sq ft John Lewis. The department store will be the biggest John Lewis outside London and will join a host of leading retail names, including The White Company, L’Occitane, Kiehls and Cath Kidston.

The scheme’s atrium roof, made from the same material used at the Eden Project in Cornwall, has been successfully lowered into place.

When construction is completed the scheme will compromise 40 retail units and 20 cafes and restaurants. At present 85% of the retail and leisure units are signed or under offer.
