Central London economy battered by lack of tourists, says Khan

Research published by Sadiq Khan has revealed the Central London economy has been hit hard by a lack of tourism during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tourism spend declined by £10.9bn in 2020 compared with the previous year as travel restrictions and the closure of arts and hospitality venues discouraged visitors.

Khan commissioned the research to help City Hall understand the impacts of the pandemic on London’s economy.
