Foot Locker has opened its first-ever community hub in a revamped store in Brixton, London.

The revitalised store aims to go beyond the expectations of a traditional retail store to bring together the local community so they can be a part of the design and experience.

The store features artwork from local artists such as Alex Garcia, Kingsley Nebechi and female street art collective WOM, who were commissioned to transform different areas of the store.

The space includes a new dedicated women’s apparel section, as well as a revamped House of Hoops area, which is exclusively for premium trainers such as Nike Air Jordans.

Foot Locker reopened its doors with a community event that included a visit from Brixton Topcats, a local grassroots basketball team, who were the first to see the space and check out its exclusive new trainer drops.

The event also included a trainer arcade machine, free spruce-ups on a bespoke cleaning throne and free trainer customisation.

Shoppers were also treated to a pair of free socks with every purchase, designed by Alex Garcia.
