The NikeSkims product line launches on September 26

The first NikeSkims product line consists of 58 silhouettes from seven collections, three of which are core ranges that will be updated seasonally.

The Matte collection provides 21 everyday staples with mid-level compression, combining Skims’ classic smoothing and sculpting silhouettes with Nike’s Dri-Fit performance technology.

The Shine range offers more supportive and sleek styles, while the Airy collection features seven breathable, mesh-inspired knit pieces designed for layering and movement.

Nike said each piece in the debut product line has been “shaped by uncompromising attention to detail – delivering style, function and comfort that transitions effortlessly between workouts and everyday wear”.

It will be available on both Nike and Skims sites, as well as select retail locations across the United States. A global rollout is expected to follow in the new year.

The collection was due to be released in the spring, but its understood to have faced production delays. Its launch comes as the sportswear giant has struggled in the recent year with falling sales and profits amid growing competition from rivals such as On and Adidas.

Nike president Amy Montagne said: “NikeSkims is a bold evolution in how women experience sport and style – and together with Skims, we’re delivering what no other brand can. It’s part of Nike’s broader commitment: uncompromising product innovation that moves and celebrates women.”

Skims is gearing up to make its first standalone store debut next year after the brand signed a 10-year lease in May to take on the former Ted Baker site on Regent Street. The US retailer’s current bricks-and-mortar network in the UK consists of concessions in Selfridges.
