The deal, which is due to close in either the second or early third quarter of 2025, will allow for Topgolf Callaway to focus on its core golf business and will mean Jack Wolfskin will join the Anta Sports brand stable which includes Ac’teryx, and sportswear brands such as Salomon, Wilson and Atomic.

Topgolf Callaway had forecast that the outerwear retail Jack Wolfskin would contribute over £282m in sales this year and adjusted profits of over £10m.

The golfing giant’s chief executive Chip Brewer said: “This sale will allow us to increase our focus and optimise our resources on our core business.

“Importantly, the proceeds will further enhance our balance sheet and liquidity, reinforcing our financial flexibility ahead of our planned separation of Topgolf from our core operations.”

He added: “We believe Anta Sports will be a good steward of the iconic Jack Wolfskin brand and we thank our Jack Wolfskin employees who have worked diligently to right-size this business and prepare it for this next chapter.”

Topgolf Callaway Brands bought Jack Wolfskin back in 2018 for £363.30m (€418m), with the Anta Sports deal representing a loss on its investment.
