The Estée Lauder Companies has launched on Facebook Messenger allowing shoppers to have Christmas gifts delivered in 60 minutes.

The beauty brand’s mobile service will allow shoppers to order Christmas gifts and choose an instant courier to fulfil the order within an hour.

The service will be available to London shoppers and orders will be fulfilled via Estée Lauder’s seasonal pop-up store, located near its company headquarters.

Estée Lauder also opened its first standalone bricks-and-mortar store in London last month.

The beauty retailer has offered the whole shopping experience using the Facebook platform by enabling shoppers to order products for one-hour delivery, in-store collection or nationwide delivery.

The retailer’s seasonal pop-up, No.6 Mortimer, is trialling Facebook’s chatbot technology with the aim to use the platform to offer shoppers a direct line of communication to their specialist make-up consultants in the future.

Estée Lauder Companies is investing in retail technology as part of its Live Lab initiative, which includes interactive lift and learn stands and selfie mirrors in its London store.

President Chris Good said: “Today’s changing consumer behaviours mean that we need to adapt to the need for instant access to our products and services.

“We are constantly looking at new ways to provide greater choice and flexibility, trialling new features like Facebook Messenger alongside live chat and other existing digital offerings while continuing to deliver a ‘high touch’ level of service across all channels.”
