L'Oreal brand Biotherm opened its first European store last weekend, at Bluewater, Kent.
The design of the 1,730 sq ft (160 sq m) shop is the work of Biotherm's in-house team and French architect Sylvian Dubuisson, who designed the brand's Hong Kong boutiques.
The colour scheme is blue and white, with the men's area a 'more masculine grey'. Walls are covered with laminates, and display units are wood and metal with a lacquer finish.
The floor is white glass, with a blue 'ribbon' intended to give a wave effect. There is also an area where shoppers can touch products and a plasma screen.
Biotherm general manager Joelle Saadia said: 'Opening a boutique in the UK is an important part of the brand strategy. It also allows for specialised in-store services.'
