The Avayler software brings together services and systems developed by Halfords in-house and is used by the retailer to manage its own stores, garages and mobile vans.

Avayler Mobile uses algorithms to calculate time slots for customers depending on where the nearest van is situated and parts available and uses dynamic pricing to value the slots. Customers can track where the van is and get notifications and updates when it is on its way.

American Tire Distributors (ATD), an independent tyre supplier to the replacement tyre market and owner of Tirebuyer.com, has been named as Avayler’s first customer. ADT will use Avayler’s platform to underpin its operations. ATD will also provide the Avayler Mobile platform to the North American automative market.

Companies can use the platform to calculate the quickest and cheapest routes to customers.

Halfords has used the platform for three years. Avayler is based in the UK but serves customers internationally.

Halfords CEO Graham Stapleton said: “This is an historic moment for Halfords and another major milestone in our transition to become a market leading motoring services focused business. The Avayler platform has enabled us to optimise our motoring services operations across our stores, garages and mobile vans, reducing operating costs, growing profits and delivering a better customer experience.

”Additionally, adding the SaaS annual recurring revenue as a new operating model to the Halfords business takes us from strength to strength as we proactively work in an ever-changing market. We’re very excited about the opportunities this platform will create for Halfords in the UK and internationally.”
