Allied London Properties has completed its£3.5 million transformation of the 10,000 sq m New Kirkgate shopping centre at Leith, in Edinburgh.
The project involved upgrading the run-down malls, as well as creating new management facilities and a community centre. Lidl took over the 750 sq m food anchor unit, and it is already proving to be its best-performing Scottish store.
Peacocks will be the next major occupier to open, taking 465 sq m, and the landlord is in talks with another potential anchor tenant. Existing occupiers include Boots the Chemist Woolworths and Farm Stores. Two smaller ground floor units remain available, as well as 1,000 sq m of first-floor space.
Allied London director Peter Cooper said the refurbishment had helped lift rents from£25 to£40 in Zone A.
Markham Vaughan Gillingham and Cluttons are the letting agents.
