Proibito heads to Hartlepool for expansion

Designer brands retailer Proibito is expanding into the department store sector, following its acquisition of the former Designer Room outlet in Hartlepool last week.

Prohibition London managing director Marino Roberto, who runs the 20-strong Proibito fashion chain, said the Hartlepool shop and its offer would be overhauled and relaunched in September. There will be a supporting local media promotional campaign.

Roberto said the 6,040 sq m store would carry a wider offer, including toys, a wedding dress concession and a bar and restaurant. 'I'm trying to put in things that the market needs and then will put in(designer) labels appropriate to the market,' he said.
