Garden Park Investments’ £25m Peterborough Garden Park opened its doors this week.

Garden centre retailer Van Hage is the anchor tenant of the 130,000 sq ft development, which it said is “set to become one of the country’s premier garden and leisure centres”.

The store features a glass atrium, and gardening and lifestyle areas including clothing ranges and a dedicated floristry department.

Van Hage already has garden centres in Great Amwell and Chenies, both in Hertfordshire.

The development had 85% of its accommodation pre-let, bucking the downturn in the retail property market, with other tenants including Le Creuset, HobbyCraft and Hawkin’s Bazaar.

Cushman & Wakefield is letting agent for the scheme.
