Peter Williams

Peter Williams spent 13 years at Selfridges, initially as chief financial officer and then as chief executive during its radical transformation to become the world’s leading department store. In this period, the Oxford Street store was completely modernised, and new shops were opened in Manchester, Birmingham, and the Trafford Centre.

His roles have included a variety of executive and non-executive positions in consumer-facing businesses spanning retail, leisure, media, and consumer products. In the retail sector, he has worked in ecommerce, department stores, fashion, sportswear and eyewear multiples, duty-free stores, mail order and shopping centres.


Peter’s extensive non-executive experience has included board positions at Asos, Boohoo, Rightmove, Superdry, Cineworld, Domino’s, Mister Spex, JJB, Blacks, Jaeger, EMI, Capital Radio, Sophia Webster and Silverstone.
