Toolstation has appointed a new managing director following the retirement of Angela Rushforth after 10 years with the group, Retail Week can reveal.
The building and tool supply retailer owned by Travis Perkins Group has appointed Lakhvir Sanghera as its new managing director from September.
Sanghera is stepping up from her role as finance, property and director for Toolstation to lead the group, and has also worked senior roles in Wickes and Travis Perkins General Merchant, after building her career at Barclays Bank, Centrica and Barclaycard.
Travis Perkins chair Geoff Drabble said: “Lakhvir has developed a great track record with the group and is well placed to oversee the continued expansion of Toolstation and build on the current momentum we have in this business. I would like to congratulate her on her appointment, and thank the outgoing managing director, Angela Rushforth, for her contribution to the business and wish her an enjoyable retirement.”
Sanghera said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this new role at this pivotal time in Toolstation’s journey. Having gained experience across a wide range of functions, and been part of the journey to set the strategic direction of the business for the past three years, I am really excited to take Toolstation forward in the next phase of growth.
“With our convenient customer proposition, extensive product range and further opportunity to expand our network, combined with our extensive opening hours and convenient delivery options, I’m determined to keep strengthening our position so we achieve our ambition of becoming our customers’ first choice.”
