Morrisons has moved four of its senior directors across to Kiddicare as the maternity website prepares to expand.

The grocer’s health, beauty and household director Hilary Lean becomes commercial director at Kiddicare, which Morrisons acquired last year.

Joining Lean is business development director Grant Henley, who becomes operations director, customer experience director Simon Eastwood who becomes retail stores director and HR Director (Corporate) Mandy Flatley who becomes HR boss at the maternity website.

Kiddicare has been on a recruitment drive as it prepares to open 10 new superstores. It has hired former Mothercare financial director Alison Brown and Boots’ Paul Allen, who joins as head of e-commerce. Moda in Pelle’s Ken Platt has also joined the team as head of multichannel.

The maternity retailer expects to create 700 new jobs as it expands.

Morrisons chief executive Dalton Philips said: “We have massive ambitions for Kiddicare and it’s vital that we have the depth of talent in the management team to deal with a major expansion. That’s why we are putting in place some of our most talented people.”

“We’re building a true multi-channel business over the next 12 months and we now have the management team to do it. The senior people joining us today ensure that we are ready to develop the best shopping experience for new parents in the UK.”
