Game has snapped up Office’s chief customer and marketing officer Guy Lister to take the helm as its inaugural chief operating officer.

Lister joins the gaming retailer, which forecast a 4% slump in full-year sales to £815m earlier this month, from Office after two years at the footwear retailer.

Prior to joining Office Lister held executive roles at New Look, River Island and Marks & Spencer.

Lister’s remit at Game will cover its UK operations including stores, ecommerce, supply chain, marketing and finance. He will report directly to digital chief executive Martyn Gibbs.

Gibbs said: “Game Digital has ambitious plans to build and support gaming communities through retail, eSports, local competitive gaming, events and digital solutions.

“Guy has the experience to lead the continued development of our UK multichannel offer and drive forward a key pillar of our future growth strategy.”

The gaming retailer acquired visual recognition and augmented reality business Ads reality in May to broaden its retail offer and in-store experience.
