PC World snaps up Micro Warehouse

PC World's business arm has bought computer reseller Micro Warehouse UK for an undisclosed sum.

Hertfordshire-based Micro Warehouse will strengthen PC World's business-to-business operation, which it runs through 137 in-store centres. In the year to December 31, Micro Warehouse generated sales ofÂŁ143 million and had net assets ofÂŁ21.4 million.

PC World group managing director Simon Turner said: 'This is an important deal that will further consolidate our position in the UK B2B technology market.'

No value was put on the deal, but PC World parent Dixons gainedÂŁ80 million from the sale of its stake in Wanadoo two months ago.
