Etailer Gadgetshop.com has launched its debut offline advertising campaign to bolster sales in the run-up to Christmas.

The campaign is the first of its kind since the retailer was bought out of administration by toys retailer The Entertainer in 2005. The ads will appear on public transport in the UK’s big cities, including on London Underground.

The campaign, which was created by retail communications agency Fourninety, is designed to attract an older customer to the etailer’s offer.

Gadgetshop will also make a festive push for its catalogue, sending out 2 million copies this year compared with 1.2 million last year.

Parent The Entertainer will send out 3.3 million catalogues this year and launch its own outdoor dedicated advertising campaign.

As well as its stores and Gadget shop.com, The Entertainer runs online store Thetoyshop.com.
