7:35am Findel eyes ‘upper end’ of profit guidance as sales jump

Findel has posted ‘recording-breaking sales’ over the Christmas period and consequently expects its pre-tax profit ‘to be towards the upper end of current market expectations’.

The online value retail group’s subsidiary Studio, formerly Express Gifts, posted a 13.7% uplift in sales in the 15 weeks to December 31.

Sales were up 13.6% and 14.2% across Studio’s product and financial services division respectively.

7:20am Bonmarché records Christmas sales slump

Bonmarché has posted a slide in sales over the festive period as increased online momentum failed to offset falling store sales.

The fashion retailer posted an 8.1% fall in total sales year-on-year in the 13 weeks to December 29, exacerbated an 11.1% tumble in like-for-like store sales.

Online sales improved 22.2% during the period while like-for-like sales across store and online declined 7.8%.
