Burnham hints at measures to ‘bring down cost of doing business’
The prime minister Andy Burnham has hinted at introducing measures to “bring down the cost of doing business” in the forthcoming Autumn budget.
Speaking to the BBC as he embarks on a tour of the UK with parliament in recess, Burnham said he accepted that the national insurance hike by the then chancellor Rachel Reeves had added pressure on businesses, and promised that the government would look at business rates reform “more broadly”.
