New Look opened a new-look store in Liverpool today.

As the latest addition to Grosvenor’s Liverpool One scheme, the three-floor, 28,500 sq ft store boasts a new fascia, a completely altered interior and a heavy reliance on visual merchandising.

New Look has worked on the store with London design consultancy Caulder Moore and the famililar white box format has been ditched in favour of a predominantly black and silver interior with features such as bespoke wallpaper and dancing mannequins on catwalks.

There is also a revamped lingerie department, Pick and Knicks, that is housed in a separate area of the shop.

Group marketing director Guy Lister said that the store is planned to sell 1 million items in its first year with an average selling price of between£8 and£9.

He added: “This has cost rather more than we would normally spend to put together, but it hasn’t been cost engineered yet.”

New Look’s Liverpool store follows trials conducted in stores at Reading and Maidstone.
