Naafi opens all hours with new automated shop

Forces retailer Naafi has introduced 24/7 shopping for British forces in Germany, with the launch of an innovative vending machine dubbed an 'automated convenience store'.

The machine has a refrigerated and ambient section, carrying 150 essential lines from bread and milk to ready meals and toiletries. It is located at the Javelin Barracks in Elmpt.

Naafi chief executive Chris Reilly said: 'We recognised the need to make goods available to the forces at their convenience, so we've launched an innovative, customer-focused solution.

'We have extended the use of traditional vending facilities from the normal grab and go items to look at products that are much more about weekend convenience basics.

'This means when people at Elmpt run out of something, they no longer have to wait until the shop opens.'
