JD Sports-owned rugby brand Canterbury has signed a four year kit deal with the Rugby Football Union and will supply kit to the England team.
Canterbury replaces sports giant Nike. The deal is understood to be worth £20m.
The JD Sports owned brand currently sponsors rugby world champions South Africa and has previously supplied New Zealand, Australia and Ireland.
The brand is stocked by retailers such as Scotts and Next.
Next boss Lord Wolfson has warned that thousands of traditional retail jobs have become “unviable” in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
In more than one high street retailer I’ve heard the same thing. “Oh, yes, we do data science stuff – it’s over there in the marketing department where we decide who to email”.
Ted Baker has entered a licensing agreement to release its lingerie and nightwear collections in partnership with Next.
