Womenswear retail group Jacques Vert Group has appointed former Fortunum & Mason marketing chief Alison Jordan as marketing director.

Jordan is responsible for developing and executing global brand strategies across the Jacques Vert stable, which also includes chains and brands Planets, Precis and Windsmoor. She will also manage the ongoing marketing and PR operations across the brand in the UK, Ireland and Canada.

Jacques Vert has not had a marketing director for about two and half years but it decided to fill the role as part of move to support the growth of its brands after a return to profit this year.

In June, it posted pre-tax profit of £5.1m for the year to April 24, compared to a £2.9m loss the previous year. It is now planning to relaunch its websites and roll out a series of concession refits this autumn.

Jordan joined the group from contemporary womenswear retailer Toast, where she was interim marketing director for five months. Prior to that, she was commercial and marketing director at luxury department store Fortnum & Mason for just over four years.

Jordan said: “The four brands in the Jacques Vert stable are much loved and have great heritage. I am looking foward to working with our partners to reinvigorate these great British brands.”
