Trinity Leeds, the only major UK shopping centre to launch this year, has opened for business this morning in Leeds city centre.

The Land Securities-owned development, in Leeds city centre, hosts stores including Marks & Spencer, Hollister, Primark and Victoria’s Secret.

Almost half of the brands in the £350m, 1 million sq ft centre are new entrants to Leeds, including Apple, Mango and Superdry.

The development, which houses over 120 stores, restaurants, cafes and bars, joins the three busiest shopping streets in the city under a sweeping dome roof.

Trinity Leeds marketing manager Paul Smith said: “Trinity Leeds promises to constantly offer visitors something new. The centre combines shopping with entertainment and events including pop-up shops, performances, art installations and it will even help play host to the very best of the Leeds cultural calendar.”

Trinity Leeds claims to be the only UK shopping centre to offer a “complete digital experience” with interactive video walls that respond to people’s movement, customer service assistants on-hand with iPads and free wi-fi. Google Product Search is also available to allow shoppers to find specific items from the retailers in the centre.
