Ikea will roll out more mobile pick-up points following a successful trial in partnership with Tesco.

Ikea Tesco pick up

The home and furniture giant will create 70 additional pick-up points in Tesco car parks across the UK.

The expansion will allow shoppers to collect their Ikea online order from selected Tesco locations for free if it is over £100 or for £5 for smaller orders.

Ikea country customer fulfilment manager Jakob Bertilsson said: “This national rollout of mobile pick-up points is an exciting milestone in our partnership with Tesco, which will bring Ikea closer to people across all parts of the UK. As customer shopping behaviours change and evolve, we will continue to grow our service offer to make shopping with Ikea more convenient, accessible and affordable than ever before.”

It follows a trial in Tesco car parks in Blackburn, Burgess Hill, Cambridge, Dereham, Doncaster, Horwich, Liverpool, Stockport, Peterborough, Basildon, Aylesford and Crawley. New locations include Lincoln, Norwich, Brixton, Poole, Shoreham and Dover, with more to be announced.

The retailer has also reduced the price of furniture delivery with orders up to 150kg now £25, down from £40, and £30 for express delivery, down from £50. Extra large express delivery is £45, reduced from £50, and shoppers can book free small parcel deliveries for orders over £60.
