Lloydspharmacy has appointed Tony Page as managing director.

Page has over 20 years retail experience, most recently as commercial director at Russian hypermarket Lenta. He has also held executive positions at Woolworths and Asda, where he sat on the board.

Lloydspharmacy parent company Celesio chairman and chief executive Dr Fritz Oesterle said: “The UK healthcare market is undergoing a period of significant change and under Tony’s leadership we intend to diversify our income and lead the sector as we build on our heritage of medicines dispensing, firmly establishing Lloydspharmacy as a leading healthcare provider.”

Page said: “We’re entering a new healthcare landscape and there are significant opportunities for a business like Lloydspharmacy which places the needs of all its customers at its heart. I look forward to leading the business as we embark on the next phase of our growth.”

Page joins Lloydspharmacy on February 21.
