Lush has unveiled its new Japanese flagship store in Shinjuku Station, Tokyo, which will boast four floors and a shoppable window.
The ethical beauty and cosmetics retailer’s latest flagship store will be its largest store in Asia and will encourage shoppers to browse its products using the Lush Labs mobile app.
The store will have a digital shoppable window, where shoppers will be able to scan products on display using the Lens feature on the retailer’s app to buy curated collections and new product drops.
The store will also have no written signage, and shoppers will also be able to use the app to find out product information and see how-to videos and tutorials, with product information on the app available in English, Korean and Japanese as well as simplified Chinese.
The store, which is located in Japan’s busiest train station, will initially span three floors, with a fourth to be opened at a later date which the retailer said will host “unique treatments in mood experiences”.
As well as selling products from across Lush’s product range, the Shinjuku flagship will also have an in-store florist and spa treatments.
Lush, which recently opened a Harajuku store selling exclusively bath bombs to develop its app’s offline capabilities, has opened a host of new-format stores in recent months including its new Liverpool flagship. The retailer also plans to open a new Fresh & Flowers format in Paris later this year.
