Harvey Nichols has unveiled plans for its Beauty Bazaar format which it claims will transform the beauty landscape.

The store, scheduled to open in late autumn, will take up 22,000 sq. ft. and will extend across three floors in Liverpool One shopping centre.

The retailer said it will provide “the ultimate luxury beauty experience” and would be “the UK’s first one-stop destination for all things beauty”.

The ground floor will offer a diverse range of beauty, skincare and fragrances from brands including exclusives from Tom Ford Beauty, Nars, Crème de la Mer and Shu Uemura.

Treatment services, including a hairdressers, brow, lash and nail bars, will take up the first floor alongside a lavish champagne and cocktail bar.  The floor has a glass to ceiling glass frontage and the retailer claims it will be “an all-day destination” in its own right.

Beauty Bazaar’s second floor features more discreet treatments including waxing, spray tanning, teeth whitening and botox.

The store will also have dedicated personal shoppers.

Harvey Nichols chief executive Joseph Wan said: “Beauty is an extremely resilient category that is holding up well despite the downturn and the launch of this new concept has evolved from plans to find new avenues for innovative growth.

“Beauty is the last area in which people rein in their spending during difficult times and we are confident that this concept will be a success and provide us with the opportunity to exploit a gap in the market for standalone, luxury beauty stores.”

Harvey Nichols group concessions and beauty director Daniela Rinaldi, who is leading the development of Beauty Bazaar said: “This new direction in retail will return beauty to the luxury proposition that the category once enjoyed; a feel-good experience that will deliver the very best collection of prestigious, niche and exclusive brands and services. Beauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols will transform the beauty landscape. It will redefine luxury beauty and be the antidote to the commoditisation of beauty.”
