London is well known for its extravagant shop window displays but not many are as eye-popping as this campaign for Fairtrade Fortnight.

Two naked actors posed in the window of The Co-operative’s new food shop on The Strand today to highlight the start of Fairtrade Fortnight. They had strategically placed placards covering their modesty.

The stunt kicked off this year’s two-week campaign - themed ‘Show off your Label’ – which is being backed by comedian Alistair McGowan, TV presenters Fearne Cotton and Zoe Ball and her husband Norman Cook.

The campaign urges the nation to show off about buying Fairtrade, which offers 7.5 million people in the developing world a more secure future.

According to the Fairtrade Foundation, there has been a sharp rise in Fairtrade sales to £1bn, despite the recession.

Be it showing off or stripping off, no doubt some weary shoppers found the models’ antics a sight for sore eyes.
