Morrisons has confirmed it will cut prices on 170 products as part of its eighth round of price reductions launched this year in a bid to help customers “plan their budgets without worrying about price fluctuations” amid the cost-of-living crisis.

The supermarket has also announced the launch of ‘More Month’ this September, which is available to More card members both in store and online, and offers an average discount of 30% on “cupboard staples”.

Morrisons said in a statement that ‘More Month’ gives customers “access to more exclusive offers than ever before” as families get back into routines during September and in line with the back-to-school period.

Shoppers can also expect to find Morrisons More card offers in its petrol filling stations as well as standard stores.

The additional points will be available across a range of branded products for the first time as well as Morrisons own-brand products. Branded products on offer include Chicago Town deep dish pizza, Penguins, Rice Krispies Squares and Lenor in-wash scent.

Customers can also redeem a £5 voucher on a future shop once they have saved 5,000 points across their shopping.

Since January, Morrisons has lowered and locked the price on more than 1,000 products every week in order to support customers.

Morrisons chief customer and marketing officer Rachel Eyre said: “Customers tell us that September is an opportunity to ‘reset’ and try new routines after the expensive summer months. We also know that saving for Christmas is already on their minds and so we have launched ‘More Month’ to help.

“We’ve added industry-leading exclusive offers to items our customers buy weekly as well as products to stock up on ahead of the festive season. Customers can also benefit from More points on branded and own-brand products, and on top of that we are continuing to cut prices across the store.”
