Accountancy firm KPMG earned fees of £11.3m from the administration of off licence group First Quench.

KPMG also offered leases on 1,061 former First Quench stores back to the landlords after it was unable to dispose of them at an “acceptable” value. First Quench operated fascias including Threshers and Wine Rack.

The details are outlined in a progress report filed at Companies House.

Richard Fleming, UK head of restructuring at KPMG, said staff had worked 32,000 hours on the administration, with fees being published in each creditors’ report.
