GlynWebb kicks off ad campaign

Independent DIY retailer GlynWebb has launched an ad campaign in its Northern and Midlands heartland, in an effort to maintain summer momentum in the run-up to Christmas.

GlynWebb chief executive George Marcall said the retailer is spending about£350,000 on the promotion across TV, radio and press. The ads focus on product and price, featuring homewares and DIY lines.

GlynWebb has refurbished half of its 26 stores this year and plans to open a handful of shops next year.

Marcall said that in the 18 weeks to September 1, GlynWebb increased like-for-like sales by 10.5 per cent.
