Poundland has rolled out its first ever summer Sale across a variety of product categories following its push into multi-price earlier this year.

The value retailer, which introduced new £5, £2 and 50p fixed price points to its offer in March, has launched a 50p summer Sale promotion across thousands of products including jewellery, clothing and gardening items.

The retailer said the Sale, which is set to run until the end of August, will be the first in a series of 50p promotional events that it will run at key periods throughout the year.

Poundland trading director Barry Williams said: “No-one loves a bargain more than Poundland customers and our promise to them is clear – amazing value every day. Our first ever summer Sale is yet another example of how we provide customers with that value.

Broadened offer

“We are discounting everything from outdoor living to confectionery so come rain or shine, we are confident this Sale event will brighten our customer’s summer!”

This is the latest in a series of initiatives the value retailer has rolled out in recent months to broaden its offering, including doubling its offer of value fashion retailer Pep&Co store-in-stores.

The value retailer’s parent company Steinhoff said the business was “trading ahead of expectations with continuing positive like-for-like revenue growth” at the half-year mark in June.
