B&Q has made two board appointments as director of store operations Damian McGloughlin is promoted to operations director and trade director Ian Herrett moves into the newly-created role of business development manager.
McGloughlin, who has been at the retailer for 23 years, will concentrate on driving core sales, customer experience and employee engagement.
Herrett will be responsible for TradePoint, showroom comprising B&Q’s kitchen, bedroom and bathroom business and corporate social responsibility.
B&Q UK and Ireland chief executive Martyn Phillips said: “It is testament to the talented individuals we have within B&Q that we have been able to find internal candidates to fill these important, strategic roles. Having worked their way up from the shop floor to the board, both Damian and Ian bring with them a breadth of experience and understanding of the business.”
