Asos UK sales increased 15% to £49.9m over the three months to August 31.

Asos chief executive Nick Robertson said the UK performance was “encouraging” and that full year profits are expected to be in line with expectations.

The group’s total retail sales advanced 31% to £141m as international sales rose 42%.

US sales jumped 65%, while revenue from the EU increased 22% and increased 53% in the rest of the world. International accounted for 65% of Asos’ sales, up from 60% last year.

Retail gross margin jumped 70 basis points despite the etailer investing in its pricing over the period.

Asos’ active customers passed the five million mark over the quarter.
